Creativity and Knowledge

Creativity and knowledge are two different things, but I personally can not have creativity without having a sense of knowledge. Creativity is the idea, and knowledge is the information. Creativity fuels my art while knowledge enhances it.

Creativity is something I can feel and build off of. It is where my artwork starts. Creativity is the use of one’s imagination. It is when you find something within yourself that you believe is valuable enough to present to the world. Creativity can be seen as being able to express yourself. When I am being creative I am bringing all of my emotions and ideas  together into one cohesive thought, but it is difficult to construct this thought without knowing what materials, techniques, or steps it takes to carry through with it.

Knowledge is the information that you use to present your creative thoughts. Knowledge is gained from experience, it is something learned. It is a very important element to art. It is how you know the rights and wrongs and how to bring life to  art. Knowledge is responsible for how your work progresses in quality. When you learn skills, techniques, and uses of different materials, you are gaining knowledge. Without knowledge or even the attempt to learn we would just all be ignorant. Knowledge is important in order to understand my own work and even myself.

Creativity and knowledge go hand in hand, almost like a cycle. These two concepts can fuel one each other and together these two concepts form art.
